Our Story
We are Dr. Terri and Doffis Absher, the husband-and-wife team behind Puffer's Pantry and Yorktown Yorkies.
What began as a side hustle breeding Yorkshire Terriers slowly grew into a full-time career that we both genuinely love. Every puppy we raised deepened our appreciation for canine health, nutrition and the extraordinary bond between dogs and their families.
Over time, the work stopped feeling like a business we operated around our lives. It became the life we wanted to build together.
The greatest part of what we do is knowing that the animals we love brought us to a career we can share together.

How We Got Here
Our business grew naturally from the life we were already living: raising dogs, caring for animals and continuously learning how to give them the healthiest and happiest lives possible.
Our love for raising Yorkshire Terriers became the foundation for a full-time career.
A husband-and-wife business shaped by shared values, hard work and a life we love.
Our work is rooted in our family, our animals and our 2.5-acre Jacksonville mini farm.
Life at Home
Home for us is a 2.5-acre mini farm in the heart of Jacksonville, Florida. It gives us room to raise our Yorkies, enjoy life with our Dobermans and care for a collection of animals that make every day interesting.
Our mornings often begin with animals to feed, plants to water and plenty of activity across the property. It is a busy life, but it is one we are grateful to live.

Every animal on our property is part of the family. Each has a different personality, a different routine and a special place in our story.

Over the years, our mini farm has also been home to goats, a cow, rabbits, a cat and ducks. Each one added a new chapter—and usually a few unforgettable stories—to life on the farm.
Giving Back to the Earth
One of Dr. Terri's greatest passions is planting, growing and giving back to the earth. Our greenhouse allows us to bring fresh herbs, vegetables and other ingredients directly into our own cooking.
There is something meaningful about preparing a meal with ingredients grown only steps from the kitchen. Gardening teaches patience, responsibility and respect for where our food comes from—the same principles that guide the way we care for our animals and create our products.

Why We Created Puffer's Pantry
After years of raising dogs, we saw firsthand how much thoughtful nutrition and quality ingredients matter. Puffer's Pantry grew from our desire to create products we would feel completely confident giving to our own dogs.
Our products are rooted in the same values that shape our life at home: purpose, honesty, simplicity and genuine care for animals.
